Painted by: Pine Creek Ceramics

Type of paint used: Under Glaze and Clear
Ceramic Glaze

The outside was painted with brown under
glaze using a sea sponge dabbed in the
paint and pressed randomly over the
surface. After the under glaze had dried,
the sea sponge was dampened with water
and used to rub the paint from the horses
high lights, leaving paint in the crevices.
The piece was fired in a kiln. Three coats
of clear ceramic glaze was applied and
then the vase was fired a final time.
This is a very easy technique to use on
many projects.
